Minister lends his support to IoD Professional Development for Gibraltar Directors
The Gibraltar Chronicle recently reported favourably on the Power of Words initiative of bringing the Institute of Directors (IoD) Professional Development offerings to Gibraltar, which will include several of the IoD’s syllabus’s leading to the internationally recognised Qualification ‘Certification in Company Direction’.
Gabrielle Gache, founder and owner of Power of Words and Pete Yeoman, Associate Director, consulted with several business leaders, regulatory bodies and professional institutions in Gibraltar, gauging opinion on this exciting venture.
Also meeting with The Hon Albert Isola, Minister for Financial Services and Gaming. Giving his full support Mr Isola sees this as a further addition to Gibraltar’s International Reputation, adding to and enriching the Rock’s pool of competent, informed and professional Director’s.
Starting early April 2017 with the Role of the Non-Executive Director 1 day course: Providing a profound understanding of the role of a non-executive director, as well as first-class strategies to effectively apply and prepare to become an NED. It will also assist directors or shareholders who are looking to strengthen their board with non-executive support, in allowing them to better understand what skills and qualities are required.
And then continuing with the following courses, which will be delivered from May to July.
Whether newly appointed, aspiring to a seat on the board, or to improve performance with fresh insight, the IoD Certificate in Company Direction, Level 9 (SCQF) qualification will equip Gibraltar Business Leaders with the core knowledge and awareness needed to function effectively as a Professional Director.
